What is electroacupuncture?
Electroacupuncture is a form of acupuncture that includes the use of a fine electrical pulse. The pulse is sent from a specialized medical grade current-producing machine, through cords which attach with tiny clip, and into the acupuncture needle. Patients often experience a warmth, twitch, pulse, or buzzing feeling.
Why is electroacupuncture special?
Acupuncturist are often not taught much electroacupuncture in school. Its one of those things that you if you want to really learn it, and be excellent at it, you have to take specialized courses. I have completed innumerable courses on electroacupuncture in order to specialize in the pain relieving and powerful healing benefits of this therapy. I am honored to have studied under some of the foremost experts in electroacupuncture and have been practicing electroacupuncture for half a decade.
What can electroacupuncture treat that conventional acupuncture cannot?
Nothing, and everything.
For example, with an acute injury such as a sprained ankle, electroacupuncture may be better because of how it helps to normalize nerve functions, increases range of motion, increases blood flow, and breaks up scar tissue.
For fertility, studies show that electroacupuncture increases the blood flow to the ovaries and the uterus resulting in a higher instance of conception.
For digestion, electroacupuncture has a regulating effect on both parts of the nervous system to help ease your digestive system into a state of harmony.
Electroacupuncture also breaks up scar tissue in a way that acupuncture, cupping, guasha, massage, etc cannot. Scars are a bioelectrical change in the state of the skin which represent inflammation, decreased blood flow, motor inhibition, and maladaptation. Electroacupuncture changes the bioelectrical potential of the scar, returns blood flow, decreased inflammation, and resolves issues with movement.
